The Challenges of Robot Maintenance and the Importance of Lubricants
Demand for high-quality lubricants is set to increase as robot use is on the rise

Castrol® research reveals that, by 2025, there could be more than 4 million industrial robots in operation. As the adoption of automation increases, so too does the demand for high-quality aftercare products. Our latest research explores the part that the right lubricant can play in overcoming the top three challenges of robot aftercare: reliability, efficiency, and convenience.

"Robots on the Rise" is a Castrol-commissioned opinion report that examines the opportunities presented by the use of robotics in industrial manufacturing and the barriers that stand in the way of a successful automation journey. The study gathered insights from a panel of experienced robot, automotive, and electronics OEMs about the challenges they face when it comes to robot aftercare, specifically in relation to lubricants. One leading automotive OEM reported that over 60% of their lubricant budget goes on robotics.
